I wrote my first ten-minute play for the CitiWrights conference in Miami this past weekend, for Tina Howe's playwriting seminar. The play came together in one feverish night, right after I arrived in Miami and saw this magical moon. Sometimes a play can take over and write itself - and you had best just get out of its way. My strange little story, about a woman who is turning into a lizard, elicited an enthusiastic thumbs up from Tina Howe, and a priceless, inspired cold reading from Leslie Ayvazian and Gordon McConnell. You kind of had to be there.
Opening reception: ocean, drinks, heights, expanse, and that certain je-ne-sais-quoi only Miami has.
